Adding colour to a picture.

When you add colour to a photo, you add a new layer to the picture and you have to make sure that you colour the picture on the first layer, not the background otherwise you cant overlay it.
I could not decide what colour it thought would look best but I decided to go for a real autumn look, so i first chose a red colour and i also shaded in the bottom of the picture on the concrete to help the effect.
After the red colour i wasn't so happy with my image so i kept adding different shades of brown to encourage the image to look dirty/ have a maximum autumn effect.

After I completed the colour, i then went onto the layer part and clicked on Overlap, I then kept the opacity the same or it would return to the original image.
This was the before effect of the edit.

This is the after picture with the edit.

Vignetting Edit

I first uploaded the photo of samantha, I decided to change the background of my picture to black and white to make the most of the picture,

I created a new layer, then i went to make a border around the edge of the picture.I clicked the pencil tool (brush) and chose the colour of the border which was preferably black.
I then picked the size of my brush for the border and wanted it to be slightly big with a soft edge to create a softness to the picture.
I held down shift to do this and clicked then dragged it all the way around.

This is a screen grab effect of the border, which has a soft edge to soften the picture image. If i was to change this next time i would personally make the brush size smaller so it doesn't bring as much attention to the border as it has done this time round.

After I did that i went onto the top bar and went into Filter- blur- Gaussian blur.

When i clicked that this box appeared which changed the sharpness and softness of the picture, I chose to blur it quite allot to give it a dusty look of the image.

This was the original picture of sammy before i made any edits to it.

Method Of Liqiufy

I went on Filter when i uploaded my picture then went onto Filter- Liquify.

When you change the brush size, with the picture i put the brush to size 346 which i thought was big enough. you then click the area on the photo you want to and edit. When you have completed the whole picture when you are finished with it press okay which completes your edit.

To get history to see what you have done to your photos, click on Window, then History.
This is the history box, it shows everything what you have done to the photo,

This is the history box, it shows everything what you have done to the photo.

When i finished the edit I then placed a background onto the back of the picture. I then used shift to re size the picture to go over the picture which created the final look which looked like this.

This is the original picture of Lydia, I have widened her smile and enlarged her eyes a little. I lifted them to see more of the colour and have brought her fringe down on her forehead. I brought the nostrils together a bit more together also.
I used the Twirl clockwise button  and held it down to make the chord strings of her jacket look like a wavy shape.

This is the original photo of lydia before I edited her with Liquify.

How to make a border on your pictures

Add caption
You have to ensure that the Auto select and show transform are both ticked to ensure you can choose and change the size of your image.

I screen grabbed this to show how I changed the size of the image.

When I re sized it to the size i wanted i then got another picture i wanted and went on Edit, then transform, I clicked again for each picture so they would match the size.

I then clicked the picture and zoomed in to make sure that they were all align with eachother.

After I had aligned the pictures together I then went on edit, stroke.

After clicking stroke, i chose the colour black for the border, and then changed the width to 20 and screen grabbed then pressed save.

This became the final effect.

Introduction!

For this terms assignment, it will take 6 weeks to do.
We will be using the different techniques of using Photoshop, we will develop our ideas on it and will be processing different ideas into editing pictures.
This covers the unit 34; 1,2,3,4,5..

By the end of the assignment we shall be creating a fantasy landscape which will include the techniques I would have learnt on photoshop in the previous weeks. We will create a landscape photo which has been digitally manipulated, so that the feature in the photo will not really exist. My job is to put the different pictures together to show i have maximum control.

I will be researching differently artists who also digitally manipulate their photos as a profession. These artists include,
Jeff Wall, Nancy Burson, John Gotto and Charles Cohen.

Screen Grab of Make a Contact Sheet on Bridge!

You highlight the photos at the bottom of which ones you would like in the contact sheet.

When you save your work this will then show you what your contact sheet will look like as shown above. You also have to change the viewing size and pictures on the right hand side to 4'5.

Introduction & Screen Grab of Uploading Pictures

We should use the image capture application instead of Iphoto.
This is how you upload pictures from the 400d camera or 100d Camera I was given today.
I used a download cable to insert the usb to connect to the computer.
You then save it to the Memory stick or Desktop.
